The MP3 operates the same as always, and it doesn't destroy the metadata, but it does mess up my directory listings when I just look at the file names themselves of course. However about six or seven months ago, I noticed the change to the file names that I was downloading from Amazon.Īmazon started post-pending what looks like a hexadecimal key of some sort to the end of each and every MP3 file name. I very rarely use the Amazon music to play the music, but rather I download the content to an organized file directory I have on my local machines and play everything through other players throughout the years, recently I've been using Plex and plexamp.Įverything has been going great, and frankly it still is going great, the mp3s play perfectly on all of my players and in home equipment. I prefer the convenience, and I like the fact that I own the music myself.

I have been buying my mp3s on Amazon almost since the service started a decade or so ago.
